A New Year with MOPS pals

We've had a few moms brave something new and join our group. How awesome to share our stories and seek comfort and support in these crazy COVID times....as if having babies and balancing the weight of our families is not hard enough. I couldn't possibly tell you about all the play dates. Jinny invites us to playdates almost every day. Some are last minute, "Hey, we are headed to the park, come meet us!" Others are planned out and booked ahead (you can't go last minute to see local celebrity Mr. Joe's story time). Our first meeting of February was a marriage talk with Diana Davis. It's been a while since we've had a therapist speak so Diana covered all sorts of topics since she specialized in postpartum.

If you find yourself in survival mode, Diana says there are 3 things you need to get yourself out: Movement (just go for a walk), Sleep and Relaxation/Meditation. We talked about ways to connect with our spouses and how important it is to ask for help.

For our January meetings, Kate had us do vision boards for the first meeting. What do you want in 2022? Let's make it happen! Kate also hosted us for another Finders Seekers moms night in.
Amber did an amazing job talking fashion and self worth in our second meeting of the year.

It's not just the meetings and moms nights that are so fun about MOPS. Those are the bread and butter since MOPS is really about the MOM taking a break and renewing her soul so she can be a better human. But let's talk about the play dates. The point is to keep these kiddos worn out! The most epic play date of the year so far has been the one that lasted SIX HOURS at the Trinity indoor playground! You know those MOPPETS slept well that night!

In December, Anne led us through a guided meditation to keep calm during the busy holiday season. We also played some reindeer games. Kate hosted a cookie exchange.

Our first meeting in November was a craft meeting making ornaments for V Pizza's V for Victory. We also put together boxes for Operation Christmas child

Khristi talked to us about finances and we swapped toys in time for Christmas. All the leftovers were given to Baby Luv.

We stuffed ourselves before Thanksgiving at a moms night out at Hot Pot!

Chasing Joy in 2021

I was thinking I'd be blogging once a month and then all of a sudden, it's January. Please, feel free to take over the blogger roll as I am failing. Let's do a recap. Our first meeting in November was moved to Tillie Fowler Park. Our one and only nursery worker, Carolyn had a COVID scare so she stayed home to be extra cautious. There also happened to be a scheduling error so we took that as a God Moment and moved to the park. We wrote thank you notes and talked about all the things we are grateful for. It was perfect timing headed into the Thanksgiving holiday.  Kate has been awesome at putting together girls nights and hosting them at her home. She even has party cups for us and a neat air filter system in her house to keep the air circulating in these COVID times. After Halloween she hosted a movie night to watch Witches.  Anne has been putting together some play dates. A group went to the beach, Cummer Museum , zoo and the Jax Arboretum in November. There have been a f...

PulseCheck with Ryan

Thanks for such a productive meeting & being so receptive, ladies! ❤️ I got some action shots 💪 I hope Ryan was able to answer your first aid questions & I hope you guys gained some new skills and knowledge ☺️ While he wasn’t able to formally certify us during today’s session (to be certified through the American Heart Association- AHA you have to go through a formal class with testing requirements), he does have his Instagram @PulseCheckCPR where you can contact him to schedule a certification course (if you need CPR/BLS for jobs, babysitting, etc.). He is an AHA instructor. For any medical girlies in our group, he also can do BLS, ACLS, PALS, and other certifications.

We're Rockin' the Fall, Ya'll!

This is our third official year of MOPS at St. Matthews. We have a leadership team running full force. Kate, our coordinator hosted us for a planning session to kick the year off in August. For our first meeting in September, we welcomed the new group and played a personality game to learn more about each other. We had fun prizes and journals for each mom. It was a cool morning to be outside to help with social distancing. It did warm up on those bleachers, though! We've had a few moms nights this month. There's a monthly craft night. This month we made fun jewelry. Kate hosted us to watch Cruella one night, too. For our second meeting in September we did fix it, freeze it meals. We prepped honey Romano pork chops, chicken fiesta soup, scalloped potatoes and ham, beef & cheese pasta and pot roast. It's so nice to leave a MOPS meeting with dinner done for the week! October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. For our first meeting in October we said special pray...
